Lauren Boebert: the controversial American politician
Lauren Boebert, an American politician, is best known as a fierce supporter of firearms. She is a member of the Republican Party and has represented one of Colorado’s districts in the US House of Representatives since 2021. Lauren is known for her extreme stance on the right to bear arms. She also shares the views of Donald Trump and remains an ally of his. Boebert is a controversial figure. During the pandemic, she denied the dangers of COVID-19 and spoke out against wearing masks. Lauren has been accused of supporting the QAnon conspiracy theory. Boebert is also opposed to abortion rights and strongly opposes the LGBT+ community.
Boebert was born in the state of Florida in 1986. When Lauren was 12, her family moved to Colorado. Because her stepfather was a heavy drinker with no steady job, the family lived mostly on welfare. She worked part-time at McDonald’s from the age of 15 and became pregnant at 18. Lauren never finished school. It wasn’t until 2020, before the election, that Boebert received her GED certificate.
Lauren worked at McDonald’s until 2007 when she moved to a natural gas company. There, she was part of a team that built pipelines.
In 2013, Boebert and her husband opened the Shooters Grill. One night, two customers got into a fight outside the restaurant, and one of them died. That’s when Lauren decided to use a gun for protection. She carried a gun and encouraged the restaurant’s waiters to do the same. However, during the campaign, the story of the fight was refuted by journalists. They found out that the man involved in the fight did not die from a beating but from a drug overdose a block away from the restaurant. The couple opened another restaurant in 2015 but sold it a year later.
Political career
Lauren’s political career began in 2019 when she clashed with the Democratic presidential candidate. The conflict was over the issue of an assault rifle buyback. Sometime later, Boebert spoke out against a gun ban in Aspen. She organised a protest supported by far-right organisations, including Three Percent. Lauren later ran for the US House of Representatives in Colorado’s 3rd congressional district.
Lauren Boebert’s identity raises many questions, not just because of her stance on guns or statements supporting Trump. During her campaign, she failed to disclose the funding sources for her family members, as required by law. Lauren’s husband’s income records were late, raising suspicions and leading to further investigation.
