How Arianna Huffington has achieved success in various professional fields

Arianna Huffington is an American author and journalist. She has also excelled in business. She is the co-founder of The Huffington Post and serves as the director of Thrive Global.
Born in Greece, Arianna moved to the UK at 16 to study economics. While studying at Girton College, Cambridge, she became President of the Cambridge Union. Arianna was the first foreigner and third woman to hold the position.
In 1971, Huffington made her first public appearance with the famous journalist and broadcaster Bernard Levin. They were a couple and lived together in London until 1980. During their affair, she grew not only as a journalist but also as a writer. She published a book criticising the women’s rights movement.

Moving to the United States

After leaving her lover, Arianna moved to New York and became co-presenter of the show on BBC1. However, she only worked here briefly and decided to concentrate on writing. In 1981, Huffington published a biography of Maria Callas, followed eight years later by a biography of Pablo Picasso. At the same time, she wrote articles for National Review.
Arianna became well known in the United States thanks to her ex-husband, Michael Huffington. He was a candidate for the Senate in 1994 but was unsuccessful. Like her husband, she supported the ideas of the Republican Party. Her conservative stance helped her become co-host of a political show on Los Angeles radio. In 2003, Arianna ran for governor of California but was controversial on the air.Arianna Huffington investor

Owning her own business

In 2005, Huffington co-founded The Huffington Post, an online publication. It published articles from journalists and bloggers. The platform quickly gained an audience and became an alternative to news portals. Development of the publication:
– HuffPost quickly gained popularity and was acquired by AOL in 2011;
– the deal was worth $315 billion and allowed the site to expand;
– Huffington became editor-in-chief;
– the platform won a Pulitzer Prize in 2012;
– Arianna stepped down from her position in 2016.
She left the publication to start her own business, Thrive Global. The company makes a range of products aimed at reducing stress and burnout. In 2019, Thrive introduced a podcast that helps people practice meditation. The format is a first-person narrative with tips and music.
Outside of Thrive Global, Arianna is active in the community. She publishes articles and participates in speaking clubs. Huffington has even tried her hand at acting, appearing in an episode of a sitcom and voicing a character in an animated series. Forbes has consistently ranked her as one of the most powerful women in the world.
