What Amazon’s Rufus can do: features of the AI assistant
Technology giant Amazon has unveiled a new AI assistant called Rufus. The neural network will make it easier for platform users to search for and buy goods. A chat with the virtual assistant is available to users who enter a query in the search bar on the site. They can ask Rufus questions about product selection. The AI will familiarise you with the differences between different product models and tell you about their features. It will help you choose the right product based on the shopper’s preferences and needs.
Amazon’s AI features:
– helps you to compare different products;
– shows user recommendations for a particular product;
– advises on what features to pay attention to when choosing a product;
– provides information about the product when the user views the product page.
Rufus uses information from Amazon’s catalogue, the web and customer reviews to communicate with customers.
Andy Jassy from Amazon notes that the new assistant will significantly improve the customer experience. It will help customers find the right product faster and reduce the number of abandoned orders. For now, the neural network is still in the testing phase with a group of users in the US. In the future, AI will be available to all visitors to the site.
Amazon plans to integrate artificial intelligence into all areas of its business.
Another AI solution from the company
At the end of 2023, the IT giant launched the Q chatbot, designed for corporate customers of the AWS service. Despite the widespread use of solutions based on generative AI, the company is also aware of the risks involved. To prevent the latter, Amazon is offering a new service for customers. It will help reduce the reputational damage that can accompany the use of AI.
The features of the chatbot Q:
– increases the productivity of business operations when using a cloud service;
– improves communication through corporate messengers such as Slack;
– simplifies work with documentation.
According to the developers, the AI can also make changes to a program’s source code. This makes it possible to speed up product development and increase team productivity significantly.
AWS pays particular attention to protecting its products. Adam Selipski, CEO of the division, talked about the new Guardrails for the Bedrock system. It prevents unwanted content from appearing in AI applications. The service inspects and filters all information that passes through it. As a result, it blocks malicious content before it reaches the user. This approach will reduce the amount of misinformation and protect people from third-party manipulation. The service may also serve to control minors’ use of content. They are not yet able to analyse information thoroughly and can become victims of fraud.
In addition to Rufus and Q, Amazon is working on other assistants based on artificial intelligence.
