Samsung credit card to be linked to SmartThings Find platform

Samsung’s IoT credit card is about to hit the market. The company has partnered with Korean fintech company KB Kookmin Card and American Express to develop the card.
What makes the new card unique is the ability to track it via a smartphone. Owners will be able to link it to their mobile devices via the SmartThings Find platform. The user will receive a notification if the smartphone moves a certain distance from the card. In this way, it will be possible to find the lost credit card. Card binding is available for the Galaxy line of smartphones.
SmartThings Find locates a range of Samsung devices, including tablets, headphones and smartwatches using BLE technology.
According to the company, tethering the IoT card will allow you to stay in touch with all your devices at all times. In addition, if the card is in a wallet, its owner will be able to detect its disappearance quickly.
Work on the card has already started. KB Kookmin is responsible for the development, and American Express is responsible for the release. For its part, Samsung will provide a solution to connect the IoT credit card to the platform.Samsung credit card IoT

Samsung’s other innovative developments

In the summer of 2023, the Korean electronics manufacturer announced it was working on new devices. In addition to the headset, the company is developing a smart ring and smart glasses. As part of these projects, Samsung has registered new trademarks in the UK:
– Circle;
– Index;
– Insight.
They all belong to the same Nice Classification 9 category, which includes a variety of devices such as smartwatches, smart rings and smartphones. The company’s representatives have not provided official information about the innovations. However, some sources indicate that the Galaxy Ring is being developed based on printed chips from the Japanese company Meiko. The accessory will have special sensors to collect information about the owner’s health. The ring will be able to process electrocardiogram and photoplethysmography information, tracking fluctuations in blood volume, heart rhythm amplitude and other parameters.
Even less information is available about the smart glasses. The glasses will most likely act as an AR\VR headset and work with a smart ring. Thanks to this combination, it will be possible to read a person’s movements much better, thus providing a more realistic experience of the game or other activities.
Samsung also continues to improve the XR headset, which the manufacturer launched in early 2023. Some experts believe that smart glasses will complement the functionality of the headset.
Given that Samsung’s direct competitor, Apple Corporation, is actively expanding its product line with smart glasses, the Korean manufacturer must not lose its position in the market. The company is, therefore, actively working on new devices.
